I am new to the program and shopping for food to start next week. I have read the list of what oils are ok which is all but sunflower and flaxseed oil. SOYBEAN OIL is not listed . Therefore I assumed that soybean oil is ok. However the health food stores say soybean oil is taken from soy as well as soy leitchin which I am finding in a lot of products. Can you or cant you have soy leitchin and soy bean oil products in your food consumption.??
also i am in dire need of gaining weight. do you know of any specific foods which are allowed on the protocol which are beneficial to weight gain?
Just wanting to confirm that I have understood you can have food items with unlimited amounts of Vitamin A as long as they are not dairy products, dairy is to be held to under 6% vitamin A because it likely means there is Vit d added. Is that right?
It appears that you are not suppose to eat hot or cold cereals. For example I have looked at Quaker oats and see nothing in there that would restrict it from the diet unless the amount of vit being 25% is an issue which if my above is correct would not make it an issue. Can anyone help me claify any of this....it seems the more I read the more I confuse myself and I want to be as compliate as possible. Thanks so much!
It says there, if a processed dairy product has more than 6% Vitamin A (which they are required to list), there is a real good chance that it was made with Vitamin D fortified milk.
So, yes, for dairy products only, keep an eye on the vit A.
I don't know where you got the idea that we can't have cereals. There are a very few boxed breakfast cereals that don't have added D or folic acid (folate) - there's no point in sharing the ones I've found, as I'm in the UK and yours might be different. The organic ones tend not to have additives, but become a fanatical label-reader! Watch what you put on to your cereal - find a milk that isn't fortified.
I'm no use to you on how to gain weight, as I only have to look at a calorie and it jumps on to me and clings lovingly Try Foods to help you gain weight.
