I was just reading an article about tracing neuron (or should I say neural?) activity from different organs in the abdomen to different areas in the brain. One portion of the article spoke about using a virus to see which part of the brain the organ would trace back to. (one of the parts of the brain was the amygdala, which is why I was reading the article) I had been wondering if/how the amygdala was connected to the liver because of the extreme light sensitivity experienced by alcholics. Is the possible infection in the amygdala a certainty in the case of someone who has Th1 inflammation and light sensitivity?
Violet I'm not a health professional but It seems reasonable that if the Th1 infection is systemic then the brain would be infected to. It seems logical that areas of the brain involved with synthesis of vitamin D would be heavily infected and the skin to.
The amygdala and liver are both involved in D metabolism and that is the connection that I am aware of.
I am not sure how someone could deduce that there was a direct neural connection between the liver and amygdala simply by observing a cause and affect relationship without considering other factors such as immune response. I am sure one of the professionals here can give you some more technical information about this.
I see you're hoping to start the MP soon. You're clearly someone who likes to understand things, and is prepared to spend some time reading, which is great. It would be good to spend all the time you can reading the essential topics on the main MP study site - familiarising yourself with the map before you set out on the journey, if you like. There's such a lot of information to absorb.
Please ask all your questions here at your own thread until you actually start Benicar and start a Progress Report on the main site.
