In answer to your post...............ya think?!!!

Drink plenty of water, xtra (sea) salt  (regular salt is mostly chemicals), lots of rest while avoiding the sun and avoiding Vit D in your foods!!!!!

Getting closer to phase three.....was wondering if there is a large % of people who experience anything much different from the norm when starting phase 3.....have most people experienced the most severe herxing while in phase two......out of the woods so to speak.....maybe into the brush?

It always seemed obvious to me Michael Jackson suffered ffrom Th1-related illness.

New stories are coming out confirming he had bone loss and lupus.

Question for those available......

If you are not having intolerable herxing on phase 2 by the time you are ready to start phase 3.....is it okay just to add in the third anti-biotic at 1/4 dosage?

It says something like this in the quick reference, but it does not qualify whether or not your severe herxing has stopped....OR if you never had anything deemed severe or intolerable.

Progressing well......unless 25-D test come back high.

If there are any others who started the MP with major psychiatric diagnoses[Im sure most people feel like they are going crazy...I am not talking about that.....rather things like psychosis, extreme ADD,clinical depression, mania, hallucinations etc.] I would like to compare and communicate about recovery.

It has been many years since mania.........but I did start with ADD so bad I couldn't remember names of relatives and family. I do believe most of that was due to high 1,25D. The psychosis, mania, and depression seemed to be almost like the brain having it's own version of a 'heart attack'. The last one of those was 1993.

Now some of you may be saying.....Sean......with previous symptoms like that.....you better lower everything before starting on the third antibiotic.

I understand your concern......none the less I would like to clarify the meaning in the Quick Reference for phase 3 when it gives the option of remaining on the maximum dose of Phase two abx while starting the minimum dose of the new antibiotic.

Thanks~Sean

I'd suggest NO.  Clindamycin and Demeclocycline had dramatic neuro-effects for me, as well as physical herx, at the start.  You are playing with fire.  It's just not predictable what a new antibiotic or combinataion will do.  And the effects are synergistic in the combo, adding a tiny bit of the new abx might make the others more effective against a different bug than they'd previously been targetting.

I have to admit there were times I started a new combo at 1/2 dose for each antibiotic, but only after I'd already seen all 5 of the antibiotics at full dose in one or more different combos.  And even at half dose, it wasn't pleasant.

Thanks Chris......there is definately not much herx going on right now.........but as I review my history it seems like at times it is all over.....and then the hammer falls again. My herxing stopped when I started eating regularly and exercising, which makes me a little suspicious.

Peace,

Sean

Sean- I started Phase III in mid May 09.  To date I have had my most difficult herxes in phase III.  I have heavy Neuro involvement.  I have had many of the neuro herxes you describe in your thread.  A year ago I had psychosis off and on for 4 weeks- pretty intense and pretty weird.  Scared the #@#$ out of me.  I laugh about it now.

Sincerely,

Kelton -   "Inspiro"

Hey Inspiro.....how is your neuropathy now?

Sean
my doctor had me do modified phase two
Clindy + Mino ..........
and then phase two Zith + Mino
...........I think because of presenting 'mental ' problems (enthusiastically emphasised by my partner) including thirty year history of mixed depression before I remarried.
[I also have one child originally diagnosed manic depressive and one originally diagnosed with Schizophrenia.  Needless to say I have my own thoughts about my childrens' diagnosis and historical hospital treatments :X]

when starting phase 3 my doctor kept me on Zith 125, Mino 100mg
BUT added in Clindy at
4.5 mg  (yep, that is 4.5 mg, a tiny fraction of the standard 150 mg capsule)

ramps:-
9.3 mg
18.75
28 mg
37.5 mg [small compounded capsule]
~47 mg
56.4 mg
75 mg
93.75 mg
112.5 mg
131.25 mg
150 mg [whole standard capsule

I have herxed so gently on this regime I am ramping almost weekly until I have just gone to ~93mg

good to hear you are doing well again
regards Sallie :)

It  seems now everytime I lift weights I feel LESS herxing for a day or so....does this neccessarily mean that I am slowing down phagotosis?

Sean ,

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you.  I have a four month old daughter and she keeps me quite busy.

My neuropathy is considerably better!  The 4-6 weeks of psychosis was the most horrific time in my life.  The only Sx I have now is brain fog - quite intense at times.  i still have polyneuropathy - in feet mostly.

Take Care,

Kelton

See if you really need to take another abx, sometimes MPers react good with the normal infections,

if you really do , need them)( fever and so) go for fluoroquinolones. Be clear to your doctor.

I have been on a weight lifting program for about two months and have gained a significant amount of muscle......however burning has returned to my feet[this disappeared 8 months ago]

Does an anabolic state in the body feed microbiota?

I don't know about feeding the bugs, but heavy exercise is noted to be immunosuppressive.
