I have had the Vit D tests done last Friday, but I don't have the results yet.
I was a bit surprised at the IP effect of just olmetec, and the speed it arrived.
I haven't been this sore for a long time, but it is worth it. I hope the wife can cope with the whingeing, She is an old nurse with fixed habits but she is learning the hard way that times change, and to survive you must change with them.
I like treatment based on science, not supposition and custom, and I have a good feeling about this.

Well well!
My GP watched the video and wasn't he surprised.

It's apologies all round today, and have some rep's samples of olmetec.

He still won't manage me though, but he is going to look harder into MP and is happy to let Dr Nick Bassal take charge.
Maybe I can get him along to a meeting in Sydney.

Last night dropped to 8mg pred, Getting a lot of pain in the heels at night, and numb legs by day.
My skin is getting scabby and flaky, and the shoulder joints sore.
The heads getting a bit foggy too, but the IP is still far below what I am used to.
I expect it will get worse as the pred gets lower.

I have to sympathise, In Australia the medication is cheap, a months supply of olmetec costs $5.30 au,  A$3.00

Zith etc. is the same but costs for nonstandard doses.

However, I possess a jewelers digital scale and can make up any size dose from compounded 250mg tablets.

I was wondering if everyone does this or pay a chemist to do it for them?
Our local chemist said he would order zith powder and empty capsules to fill, but it would be expensive.
I will worry about that next year.

Keith,

What wonderful news!!! Maybe the GP will want to learn more and then help some people desperately needing MP care.

I was also glad to hear that you are not even thinking of Zith until maybe next year. That tells me that you are going to go slow like you need to do.

Hi Barney,

I don't expect to start the Mino for at least a month, let's get rid of the pred first.
There is plenty of time now...

Keith,

You sound like a very wise man. You might even have to wait longer to start mino, I think you will be able to tell.

What a shocker last night was!
Major leg cramps and piercing pain in both heels.
I had to take extra olmetec plus doloxene and wear socks to bed before I could settle.
This seems a bit excessive for the first week, Any suggestions?
I can manage the days OK.

8mg pred today, 5mg am & 3mg pm, dropping to 7mg tomorrow.

Keith,

You need to tell me what meds you are taking and their amts before I can answer you. You may add them to your signature line, but need to keep them updated. Otherwise, list them first and then you comments and questions.

Just the 8mg pred and olmetec.
I'm not much of a pill taker, though not long ago it was different, chemo etc.

I limit painkillers to panadol, and add doloxene when it gets ridiculous.
Sweet annie looks after inflammation but I am reluctant to use it while doing MP as it has strong antibiotic properties and is" immunoregulatory", whatever that means.

Diet is good, No eggs or seafood since starting MP, and no fatty meat though I drink fruit cordial every day.

No alcohol or tobacco and 1.5 tsp sugar per cup of tea. rarely coffee.

Keith,

When the IP's get out of control like last night, you might want to increase your Benicar 40mg/4hrs and 20mg sublingual until the IPs are under control and then you can move them back to Benicar 40mg/6hrs.

I do not know what doloxene is? You may use tylenol that is not contradicted w/MP.

Also, do not know what Sweet Annie tea is?

Hi Barney,

Aussiebarb put me right with the prednisone, My mistake as I started the withdrawal too soon!

Doloxene is dextropropoxyphene napsylate, a strong painkiller.

Sweet annie tea is a shameful secret of western medicine, A popular lifesaver in third world countries but kept quiet by pharmaceutical companies in the free world.

Google "Artemisia annua"  if you want to learn more, or see

http://www.artbiomedical.com/home.html to learn what else it does...

In fact, it was because of this research I started MP.

Like D
r Marshall, these people know their science.

Keith,
Any traditional or pharmaceutical medicine which affects the immune system will stop your body from killing the metagenomic microbiota causing your disease.

There are only one or two supplements compatible with regaining your health. They are listed in our Knowledge Base. Sweet annie is not amongst them.

If the science was simple, then there would be no longer be any chronic disease - somebody else would have solved the problem long ago.

As it happens, I fly to China on Monday night, and I can assure you that no traditional medicines, not even 'Sweet annie', have managed to wipe out chronic diseases there. That is why I am helping them implement the MP in China...

A very good point.

Up until now, it has been "any port in a storm" as far as treatment goes with me,
Even the chemo and prednisone served it's purpose as I am still here to write this.

But, I have no hesitation in adopting MP and dropping sweet annie as MP has a solid scientific base to work from and the support is second to none.

TCM has a long history, but without the science it is a little like witchcraft, more hope than reason.
Still, it does work, and I am not sorry I used it but now is the time to move on.
Hopefully, by the time you get back I should be settled into the olmetec routine and thinking about mino.

Keith.

Keith,

You can up your Benicar 40mg/4hrs with 20mg sublingual as needed and do not start Mino for some time yet. Need to see you get off the pred okay with a decent MP life.

Fair enough.
I was hoping for a month to six weeks, but as you say their is no rush.

Went back to 10mg pred last night and an extra 40mg olmetec,
The cramps eased significantly and the pain lessened.
Score one for peer support...

Just saw  the GP, and got more painkillers for night cramps and leg pain.
I have a referral for a thyroid test to do with my other bloods today, should I post the results here?
Also, is codalgin forte OK to take?

Hello Keith,

Please do post your blood test results.

Codalgin forte is codeine/acetaminophen and does not appear contradictive to MP...so it can be used.

I have been looking up Retinitis  pigmentosa in old posts and it seems suggestive but inconclusive,
Is there any current data thats not posted yet?

I googled it and here is the Wikipedia link:

Retinitis pigmentosa

Try googling it off the MP website and see what you find. I did not find it with the MP google site.

Out of curiosity, why are you wanting to know about this?

Happily, it's not my problem, but it is for an old friend of mine.

If MP will help him I will refer him to Dr Bassal in Sydney.
