Hi,

Unfortunately I have not found a doctor yet who would support me with the MP.
They refuse because of 1) not knowing the therapy and 2) the Olmesartan dosage.
However, all physicians agreed in the diagnosis, i.e. they all told me that I am suffering from an autoimmune disease. I lost all my hair (there is no hair wherever) and it's a daily suffering to lose the nails in a long and terrible rejection process (finger and feet). I am always fatigued and have lost weight (now I am 45 kg or 99 lb resp.) and muscles. Life turned very hard.

Now I had the D-Metabolites tested.

The results are:
25-Hydroxy-Vitamin D3:            23.0 nmol/l
1.25-Dihydroxy-cholecalciferol: 29.6 pg/ml

I have been avoiding foods with vitamin D for 3 months.
I have not been avoiding sun (or I have been avoiding it only lightly in the last few weeks).
I have been taking prednisolone in high doses (starting at May, 27th, 2009 with 80/60/60/40/40/40/20/20/20/20/20/20/20/10/10/10/10/10/10/10 ... mg/day and weaning off until July, 07th, 2009.
In addition I had locally taken other immunosuppressants as cortisone liquids and Sandimmun (ciclosporin) solution.
I did not take Vitamin D supplements.
I was taking neither Benicar nor an ARB or an ACE inhibitor when the sample was drawn.

My intention of doing the D-Metabolites test was to get test results that could convince some physician. But will these results do?

Thank you
Sophie

I know you all had/have your difficulties and the fight for your life yourself. So you will understand me. I’m resolved to do all it is needed to become a normal human again (no matter how long it will take) but without a supporting physician I don't get the required medicine. That’s the problem.

Hi Sophie,

Your 25D is in the optimal range for doing the MP (under 12 ng/mL). You should also be aware that there is still a possibility that the 1,25D result is a false low if the lab stored the sample for some time without freezing it before testing the sample.

I assume your doctor has already seen the information at the following links, if not, here it is...

Please print out the phase 1 doctors guidline...
http://autoimmunityresearch.org/phase1.pdf
and bring it to your doctor.

If English is difficult for him, Joice Waterhouse has provided a PDF of her excellent article in German in two parts...
