Hello,
just got the results from the lab out of your calculator:
----
Feedback on vitamin D results
25-D: 19.6 ng/ml
1,25-D: 54.2 pg/ml
Steroids/TNF drugs: No
Olmesartan: No
In countries where milk is supplemented with Vitamin D, it is unusual to see 25-D levels in this range unless Th1 inflammatory disease is present. Assessment of the degree of inflammation involves assessment of both sources of ingestion, and the measured 25-D level. If the individual has been carefully avoiding all exogenous sources of Vitamin D, this level might possibly be within normal limits, and a therapeutic probe is suggested to confirm the presence or absence of Th1 disease.
This level of 25-D is just above the therapeutic range. This is a good place from which to initiate therapy concomitant with avoidance of ingested Vitamin D.
The value of 1,25-D is elevated, indicating the VDR dysfunction typically seen in Th1 disease.
---
Some other results, Mid Mai:
Lymphocytes 46.1
Granulocytes 45.7
Cholesterol 233
Leukocytes 7.3 /nl
Creatinin 0.57
As to the tests: The blood was drawn in the lab, that performed the test.
I did not avoid foods with vit D. We eat a lot of thai food, containing fish sauce and japanese foods, a lot of fish etc. I did not avoid the sunlight more than I do normally, and am working mostly indoors.
I took ceterizin for two days, End of April. No other meds this year. 10 Days Doxycyclin in Dezember 2008, because of infective flu, oral Cortison for 6 weeks, starting End of June 2008, only low dosed, starting with 100 mg, against opticusneuritis and something to prevent stomac pain. Can't remember the name of the med. No VitD supplements in Foods in Germany. No Benicar, no ACE Inhibitor.
As I was diagnosed MS already, I am quite sure, that I have Th1 infection. But what about the "relatively normal" 25-D level?
Thanks for your answers,
Verena

It seems like the calculator is strongly suggesting that a TH1 inflammation is very likely present. For somebody that eats a lot of fish (high vitamin D intake), a high 1,25D and low 25D is a hallmark of TH1 inflammation.
