I am since nearly 2 weeks on votum and 2 days on mynocycline, I didn“t have any severe herx reactions yet, how long should I take the low dosis? (40mg votum/4 times a day+25mg minocycline every 2nd day) When can I increase? In 2,5 month I have to be able to work full-time, is that possible at all?
Thanks

Hi Jamie,

Please see Phase One Guideline.  It's a good idea to print it out as you'll need to refer to it often.

Thank you for your reply Juia, I have read lot so far and I know theres alot more reading to do.I find it hard to access my self but I feel things have remain the same before I started the MP and since being my third week into it, my doctor is away on holiday so can not confirm with him.Apart from my normal tightness in the chest , shortness of breath triedness and some times short headaches, I feel I can take more herxing, so does the mean to increase the votum or mino? cheers, Jamie

Jamie,

Herxing can kick in at any time, so 'slow and steady' is the MP motto.  Step 8 of the phase 1 guideline says concerning minocycline, Allow a week or more between increased doses.  Meanwhile continue the Benicar (Votum) at your current level.  You only need to increase it if you get intolerable herx.  Never decrease it below 40mg every 8 hours.

Don't forget that your progress will also be affected by your level of light exposure and your success in cutting vitamin D out of your diet.

Jamie,

Ordinary sunglasses don't keep out infra-red rays.  Please see Protecting your eyes, especially the section NoIR Sunglasses.
