Hey Guys,

Two questions:

1. Body Aches.  I'm getting pains in areas that were ususally clear before starting the  MP.  Is this expected.  ( I had degenerative disk problems in my lower back so when they showed up it was no surprise, but now my shoulder blade on my left side is hurting and that never hurts. only 38, ususally painless. No heavy lifting. Any ideas?

2. Anxiety/Depression.  Been up and down with this but Anxiety has definitely crept up. Is this expected?

-Lug

Wow Nat,
You aren't kidding - I read this like a poster child on a milk carton - my picture here:

The following is only a partial list of possible immunopathology symptoms: fatigue, muscle weakness, rash, headache, photosensitivity, pain anywhere, numbness, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, ringing in the ears, toothache, sinus congestion, nasal stuffiness, fever/chills, flu-like bodyache, cough, irritability, depression, sleep disturbances and ‘brain-fog.’

Luckily I had a cheap TENS device from my martial arts days, that seems to treat the lower back and shoulder blade inflamation without pain meds, which is good.

If it gets any worse I'll try taking an extra Benicar.

So far so good. I've actually experienced one or two partial days of mental clarity.
A friend said it was a miracle. To bad the window closed up. I hope it comes back.

I like that Lug better.

Aussie Barb also posted:

Anxiety is a common symptom of Th1 inflammatory diseases. Anxiety can be subtle or very debilitating and may make it more difficult to tolerate other symptoms and continue on the MP. It's important that you recognize your anxiety and the impact it is having on your perception of your symptoms.

The short-term consequences of not wearing adequate eye protection will be an increase in neurological symptoms caused by stimulation of the Amygdala in the brain. These neurological symptoms include fatigue, irritability, aggressiveness, lack of concentration, brain fog, photosensitivity, transient loss of memory, mood swings, confusion, anxiety, anger, neurosis and even psychosis."

I haven't been wearing my Noirs in front of my computer indoors cause it's tough to see the screen. I'll try and force myself and see if it helps at all.

Holly Christmas!  I suddenly feel like I've been harpooned in my left shoulder blade!
(my good arm)  This is a brand new experience for me. I can't even lift a milk bottle to drink with my left arm without feeling this wonderous senation in my back.

This is a brand new one on me. I'm having to do everything right handed.

Knochen said this was "perfectly normal" as he too has at times felt hugged by an invisible norse thunder-yutz swinging a hammer at miscelaneous rib bones.

The TENS device worked on my lower back, (which is oddly pain free now) but I cant seem to get the electrodes in position on my back correctly... cause my left arm is gimp and if I move it moves the invisible harpoon.

Taking an extra benicar did squat minus. I've broken out the heating pad and turned it up to 11.

What pain meds are MP Legal?

If this doesn't go bye by tomorrow I might have to take steps.

Oh, ps. I'm blowing my nose like a bugler. My nose is running like a faucet, so immune-pathology is definitely taking place.

Gotta love it.

-Update: The heating pad didn't help much. I managed painfully to get the TENS electrodes onto my back. That seems to be working. Gotten the pain down from a 10 to a 5. Before if I inhaled it hurt and my left arm was useless. Now I can type with my left hand.

Please: I need to know - what pain meds can you use while you are on the MP?

It seems as long as I can keep these 4 electrodes on I'm ok, but I'll have to take them off at some time to wash. I'm not looking forward to that.

Help?

Whew,

The TENS electrodes cut the pain down enough that I could lower the power on the unit. I HIGHLY RECOMEND owning one of these 30 dollar devices, it just totally saved my butt.  My nose has also begun easing up a bit.

Totally        gross.

WOW.  I'd stepped up to 100 mino as scheduled and it knocked me on my butt!

Back down to 75 for a while.

I am now off to read up on pain meds.

Thanx Knosh.  I was scared there for a while.

People, you can get unexpected herx symptoms,

THEY'RE ARE NOT KIDDING AROUND HERE!!

Yes, listen to Barb.

I have a particularly weak unit and was trained how to use it
during my Martial Arts Days.

Epilogue:

It's 5:40 am,
The Mino's half life has died down, running it's course.

I'm a little sore, and sniffily, but nowhere near as bad as yesterday.
I went for a short walk before the sun comes up,
and I have function of my left arm again.

Who would think such extremes were possible?

My g-d.

Taking things slow.

Hey guys,

Taking it slow. Pain is gone and nose has cleared.
I'll stay at 75 for another two days and then try the 100 again.

There's an interesting article I came across in science daily discussing
using infra-red light to improve dimentia. ( the same spectrum our noirs filter out. )

I thought the biomedically inclined admins might find it interesting.

I wonder if they're pre-screen their test subjects for TH1? :)

Hey Guys,

So I'm up at 100 mino. I guess I've made it over the hump.
Body aches but not as bad as before. Runny nose, but again not as intense.

So I guess this is good.

Phase One - Yay.

Still exhausted, physically and emotionally.

Wish I could muster more enthusiasm.
Feel's like some strange twisted marathon.

Hope everyone's weekends went well.

Somone somewhere on this board had the best weekend out of all of us.
I'd love to know who it was. :)

Ps: A friend read my post, joking that it implied I had a good weekend.
knowing I did not. She also said I should be including all symptoms if I do post.

Anxiety. Stress. Chronic Fatigue, Aches and an Emotional wreck.

Don't think it qualifies as "Neuro Herxing" because it's been par for my course,
but this weekend for me was rough.

I shouldn't be leaving a misleading impression my saturday and sunday were a cakewalk. They weren't. I just didn't feel like whining.

That's what inspired the weekend querry. Who's was the best, cause it sure wasn't me, and it sure wasn't some of my friends.

Hey Guys,

Woke up with TMJ on my right jaw, and I had a mouth-piece in to prevent grinding.

This is new, though again, not unexpected.
Hopefully this will be just like the other random crampings - Temporary.

Random runny nose episodes that last an hour or two then dissapear,
and bouts of anxiety that come and go.

I went to the movies last night and was embarassed to wear my Noir's.
My eyes wound up feeling funny the rest of the evening.

I won't be making that mistake again.

Also, since I have the 3 different grade Noirs, I'm going to experiment wearing
the medium grade indoors and see if that makes any difference or not in improving the anxiety.
The 3rd darkness level  would be difficult to wear indoors but not impossilbe. We'll see.

Also trying to remember to hydrate extra when taking the Benicar,
and if I need to go out in the sun not be outside without being 4 hours
from my last benicar. G-d there is so much to remember.

Nearing the end of the 1st week at 100 mino, Benicar 4 qid.

So far so good.

Lug,
I remember wearing the darkest NoIRs to the movies, but I found it helpful to bring both lightest and darkest depending on how much light the director mandated for some scenes.

Movies were a great way to get out at night and do something without really doing much more than driving someplace in a car, walking a very short distance and then just sitting. NoIRs really are about the only other requirement .

I hope you are keeping a big picture graph/chart of details so you can see patterns over time that help discussions with your doctor. Sometimes linear day-to-day journals obscure or minimize important patterns you do want to notice during long-term immunopathology management. Make your own or use these:

Downloadable MP Documents, Phase 1

Yes,

I have downloaded and began doing my best to maintain these records since the beginning, three months prior.

These posts are actually helping me keep track for myself the most salient immunopatic responses
in a way I feel is aiding my recovery in a stronger and more immediate fasion.

It is easier for me to post because literally my apartment looks like a bomb hit.

Paperwork tends to disapear and blend into the background clutter like you wouldn't believe.
Environments tend to reflect states of mind, and my priority has been making sure paying my bills
don't get misplaced first, (unfortunately those aren't faring so well either.)
All my MP Phase I help sheets are literally taped all over the cabinets of my kitchen.

I will definitely be bringing these records to my MD,
but this is accumulated data of what has already occurred,
not what is about to come around the corner.

What would really help me, now that I am nearing the end of Phase I is acess to the Phase II pdfs and information
so I can begin reading about what I hear can be a much rougher road.

Julia PM'd me to be patient and I am really trying very, very hard to do so.
Forgive me Julia if I am falling short on this.

This info could be PMd because I very much understand your need to prevent access to this information
to those not already on the MP, as well as to those you do not wish to heedlessly jump ahead.

I feel I've demonstrated an unwavering dedication to your instructions to the best of my abilities, I hope.

The links you offered I do very much appreciate Janet, but its to data I've already digested 3 months ago.

Please, Please, Please, Please, Please. Please.

May I begin reading the Phase II pdfs and related information so I can prepare myself for what is to come
and bring them to my MD, exactly as I did when begining Phase I ?

Being fogged requires reading, and re-reading, and re-reading in order to get into your head what your new learned behaviors are suppossed to be, also so you can speak intelligently with your MD about what is going to transpire.

I very much need to begin attempting to upload this information into my mind
before my next Dr Apt, which is on August 11th.

This is really what would actually very much help me,
otherwise it is going to be a wasted visit I can't afford financially.

As allways,

Thank you so much for your kind responses Janet.

-Lug

Lug,
Doctors have access to all phases of the MP. When you and your doctor determine it is the best time for you to study later details than the phase you are in, then please make sure your doctor is properly motivated to be a member of the Private Section for Health Professionals so you get the help and information you need.

You might make a phone call to his office staff to leave a note or talk to the nurse about this issue, or even fax a request, so the value of your effort, money and time will not be wasted.

Remember, good friends like Colleen and others who are not even members on this site read our posts here, and some links are updated frequently. I've found that the ability to capture details missed intially also improves over time. It's all good.

When I was quite ill, my housekeeping was a shambles and even my dreams had upsetting sequences of wandering through old buildings with fallen bricks and cobwebs and a mess of dust and debris... feeling and thinking things would always be a mess. My dreams are sweet now, and my house is getting organized slowly but surely. I know where you speak, I lived there too once.

Best to you Lug--Janet
