How does the MP work? I am curious to know a little more about it as I currently live with the following conditions above. I am a student and have lived with CFS and FM for most of my life :( though I am determined to be well again someday. Hope to meet new friends.

Welcome Sonia
seems you have some of the problems I accumulated [but not the worst ones :)]

The MP works by slowly and surely curing dysregulation of the vitamin D receptor.
This can be regarded as a blockage partly contributed to by microbes themselves, those which are tiny enough to hide with the cells of the Th1 immune system .

The diagnoses of potential users are often those associated with 'auto-immune' problems.
Others who have success here are those with multiple problems and/or doctors who are honest enough to say they do not know what is wrong.

Both the links in my Signature line are there to help you
and here are a few more to look into
http://mpkb.org/home/protocol/olmesartan
http://mpkb.org/home/pathogenesis/vitamind/low25d

lots of new things to learn :)
it took me months
Sallie

Sallie,

Thank you for getting back in touch with me and informing me as to how the MP works. I have low blood pressure and I am a little worried if that would be an issue.

I will continue to read information on the MP now and in the future.

Best,

Sonia

Olmesartan Medoxomil can lower BP only by 12% or less, it has very mild action on BP, but has very specific action on the VDR. Those who start with particularly low BP have found that with a little care bending over, getting up slowly, they adjust and are not troubled much.

Thanks for getting back in touch with me. Twelve percent is not bad, but I wonder if I should increase my salt intake in order to offset any possible orthostatic hypotension. I'm not saying that I would eat a whole lot of salt, but more than what is normal for me.

good idea, Sonia
Olmesartan is potassium sparing, taking a little extra salt can help to control the balance of K and Na.
In any case, you will need a doctor to order a Blood Biochemistry panel every few months partly to keep an eye on potassium.

Sallie, I just noticed that you are in Australia. That's a long ways from the US. I have had other medical conditions on top of what I listed, but I am new on the board and have to become comfortable with the applications and settings.

You will probably want to eat more than just a little more salt on the MP.  You will find that there will be more water drunk due to the clearing out of the by products of dying bacteria and dying cells, a necessary condition for more than one reason.  So, with the passing of more fluids, you will also be passing more salt, and will need to replenish regularly.

We are a very world wide group, with certain parts of the world being a little more open to new medical ideas.  Unfortunately, the US is not one of them, but there are worse places to be than the US for going on the MP.

Welcome to the forums, Cynthia

Cynthia thank you for the warm welcome. I will take your comments into consideration when I begin the MP.
