Niacin and vitamin C Emergen-C packets

Is there any information available as to whether there are any contraindications to taking niacin or vitamins C (Emergen-C drink mix packs) while on the Marshall protocol?

You really should not be taking any vitamins while on the MP, unless it is an unusual situation of a true metabolic problem that makes your need well beyond what can be obtained from food, as ascertained by a doctor's medical tests.  The stance of the MP is that you could take something that has only the RDA of vitamins, but you are very unlikely to find a multiple that does not contain vit D, which you must avoid.  Second, most vitamins are produced, not in RDA amounts, but in therapeutic amounts.  Your packet, if my googleing worked, is 1000 mg of C, far beyond the RDA of vit C.

Number one rule of the MP (Marshall Protocol) is that you can not mix protocols.

Welcome to the MP, Cynthia

Root canal
Ongoing Problems

I have a tooth that I had a root canal done on about 12 years ago. Previous to that it had a big amalgam filling. I have had about two episodes of severe pain in that tooth each year since. I would go to the dentist and they would X-ray it and tell me that there was nothing wrong with the tooth and that it must be a sinus infection. I have continuos low grade pain tender to touch on that side of my face since before the root canal. It is giving me trouble again and as I am already fighting the th1 bacterial infection, would it be better to have that tooth pulled out?

Treatment Symptoms

I have been on the protocol for 6 months. I have unrelenting joint and muscle pain with restless legs and insomnia with extreme weakness. Total brain fog, I feel like I have had a severe case of the flu that will never go away. Feeling like it will never end. I am pretty tough but some days I feel like I can't take it anymore. Is this a normal reaction to treatment? When are the so called good days coming?

Yes.

Everybody is different so there is no way to predict how you will progress.  For me the first two years and a half years were pretty brutal, some others have experienced improvement a lot more quickly, others take even longer.

As things stand it is the price we need to pay for health.  In the future ways may be found to ease the process, but for now there is really no other option.

Good luck.

Rickettsia Africae and Syphylis

Is the Marshall Protocol effective against African Tick Bite Fever caused by Rickettsia Africae? What about Syphylis?

Rickettsia can exist as L-form, take a look at this thread:

http://www.marshallprotocol.com/view_topic.php?id=8762&forum_id=35&highlight=rickettsia

I assume by syphilis you are referring to the chronic after effects rather than acute form, if you do a search of the mpkb you will find numerous entries:

that brain fog can be so confusing ;)

BigDaddyO,
could you let us know whether you are taking Olmesartan 4x40mg daily on average, or more than that,
also if/when you have added Minocycline, and if you have tried using 2 abx  on the second days to stir things up.

Clindy is nowadays the usual second antibiotic. For some it stirs up brain fog, but not for others.
I started on a very low dose and worked up slowly over some months. It didn't really hit until the second from top dose.

Once we know whether you are pushing along quickly or cruising gently in your MP journey, any Support Team members  who visit this site will better be able to respond to your questions.

The principal 2012 change in recommendation for people who are starting the protocol, is to avoid using azithromycin completely until after some years on the MP and only if there is then little or no IP over a prolonged period
regards
Sallie

BidDaddy, please tell us your current dosing as Frenchie has ask, and specifically if you are taking any ABx (antibiotics).  If you are taking any ABx, you need to lower or stop the ABx.  Cynthia

Have had similar experience and found mainstream dentists perverse to the point of stupidity.  Eventually found a specialist dentist who got to the bottom of things.

You would do well to look up the IAOMT and locate a suitable dentist.

Hope things have improved for you since your post here.

Hi BigDaddy.  Please keep all of your questions in this thread.  We need to have all of your info in only one thread so we do not have to look for it.  This is your thread, and you can always find a link to it by clicking on the 'My Account' button, upper right.

You might also help us out by putting your general location in your profile, as we are a very world wide group, and the answers we give are often location dependent.  Click on the 'My Account', upper right, and on the 'Profile' tab.  Enter your location on the correct line, and then click on 'Save'.  You will then see your location under your name on all of your posts.

Thanks for the help, Cynthia

Dear Cynthia,
Thank you for your help. My head is so thick that I am having a hard time using the site. Please bear with me, hopefully I will have a moment or two of clarity in the near future.

You did well putting your location in.  That first click you did is where you will find the link to your thread.  But, if you post fairly often, you should be able to see your thread on the first page of two of the forum.  Just click on your thread and add another question to the bottom using any reply button.  Cynthia
