I started to itch and tear in my groin a couple of years before the herx became so bad I had to stop working, stop life. The itching became so intense that nothing could have convinced me it was more important than scratching!!!!! Junks of skin tore off and I bled but... The itching drove me crazy!! For years.
I haven't been so bad for a while now but this week I found something that I can use to stop it. I mix peroxide ($3 for a large bottle) about 50 - 50 with bottled water. I do this in a spray bottle and when I start to itch I sit down and spray and spray and spray...
I have a "friend" in a bottle for the first time.
Lately I spray just about anything that doesn't move out of my path with this mixture. The cutting board after I wash it, the counters...
It helps on many things but more importantly I feel I have some way of combatting things actively. I was a "take charge" kind of person in many ways and years of being down...
I love my spray bottle. It not only stops the itch it helps me take back a feeling of control over some aspects of my life.

I seem to recall that once mixed, it has a very short shelf life. How long has the mixture continued to be effective for you after you mix it? Cynthia
PS. I grow orchids, and some people use it to kill various unwanted organisms.

You are mixing H2O2 with H2O.
The "shelf life" is short but a few days I suppose. I keep adding peroxide so I haven't measured it, just been glad of the relief. I "play it by ear".
I suppose anyone who needs it and tries it will find their own "formula" and time line.
You will find that salt water in sunlight does the same. That's why surfers have "bleached" out hair, actually peroxided... Is that a word?
If you are using it for plants... The health of the plant will let you know.

| Thanks, that is good enough fo an idea. When used on plants, there is no immediate feedback, but for you, I can see that either you get relief or you don't. I have a few bottles of the stuff, but have never used them. I will try and see how it affects things. Cynthia

Good luck! If you find a good mix or some hints that might be helpful please let me know. I've just started to use this mix and I was wondering the same thing myself, how long it is okay to leave standing.
I think I will buy a second bottle for my bathroom and mix it each morning and see if that is more effective.

I also have a great deal of trouble healing. Small cuts take a long time. I have started to spray the cut I get and it helps there too. I spray them some mornings even though they are scabbed over and I find that the reaction with the peroxide mix indicates there are bacteria on the edges of the scabs. I am finding that the scabbing is more "normal" and they seem to heal a bit faster. Again, this is new for me so I am just trying to figure it out.
It's a great thing for cuts on the toes or fingers.
