Hi Everyone

Sick of wearing glasses!  Has anyone found out if you can get the NoIRs in a contact lense yet?  This would be so much easier to manage the MP for me if I could. I have seen a few people "talking" about this on the site, but canot remember seeing the outcome.

Thanks

Giddygirl

Short answer on Noir contact lenses is.... No.  They can't do it using their technology (it's a coating).

For a single vision Rx Noirs, please see this thread

They work well, but it's a bit of a pain to arrange all the bits and pieces.  Worth it though!

Thanks Knochen

I already have my prescription glasses coated with the IR preventer.  I am just sick of wearing glasses inside.  If they can make cosmetic coloured contacts, I am sure that they can make IR ones. Someone just needs to do it!

I really wish someone could work this, too!  I would like to have them just because Noirs are not enough for me!  I tried to research this, but have found it difficult to find someone who will talk to the "patient" rather than an eye doctor.  I tried to engage my eye doctor, but gave up.

A while back Nike made some tinted sport contact lenses called MaxSight which reportedly to blocked 90% blue light and 95% UVA and UVB (no talk of IR). Too bad they were discontinued--it's an interesting step forward though.

Hi there

Can anyone who is interested in seeing NoIr contact lenses be made available please contact NoIR medical and ask if they are available?  To get them to take this seriously, they need to understand the demand.  I would just like to talk to someone inside without wearing glasses!

I will let them know of my interest, but everyone should understand that in order to block enough light using a contact lens, it is likely that the iris will look so dark with the lens in that your eyes will look like you have no pupil.  Unless there is a way around this, it will look very odd to people looking at you.

That would be fine with me.  I am looking very odd anyway!  At least people know that I am looking at them when I am talking to them. I have also had the experience of the lymph nodes in my nose becoming so sore that I have not been able to wear my NoIRs or any glasses for a few days.  This would also be a potential solution for that issue too as this has happened to me twice now.

I would send an email to Noir as I too would love Noir contacts I could care less about having an entire dark contact on. Some people wear ice blue contacts or colors that are violet or not true eye color I think it would look less obvious then the huge dark glasses.
